GRAND Imperial Group’s 11th outlet at Setia City Mall, Setia Alam, Selangor, is a representation of their 15-year journey of luxury and culinary excellence. The newest restaurant is beautifully designed and offers authentic Cantonese-style cuisine, making it the ideal venue for special occasions.
This year, the group is also celebrating its 15th anniversary. In just 18 months, they have expanded from eight to 11 restaurants, achieving remarkable milestones. Group managing director Datuk Tony Wong Nam Loong stated that Setia Alam is strategically located to capture the market in Klang, Port Klang, and Shah Alam. The area is home to numerous businesses, and the new outlet provides a convenient venue for corporate functions without the need to travel to Petaling Jaya or Kuala Lumpur.
While the focus of the group remains on Cantonese-style dishes, they have brought in talented chefs to introduce more exciting options for customers. The new restaurant spans approximately 15,000 sq ft and features five private rooms, accommodating up to 400 people. Its modern interior design gives it a youthful and trendy vibe.
During the grand launch, lion dance performances were held to symbolize luck and prosperity. Attendees were treated to a six-course banquet menu, making the occasion even more memorable. Moving forward, Wong shared that the group plans to further expand its reach by opening one or two additional restaurants in the next two years.
There have been discussions about opening an outlet at the recently launched Pavillion Damansara, and the group is also exploring opportunities in Johor Baru. Grand Imperial’s brand is already well-known in Singapore, attracting tourists to visit Johor Baru and enjoy their food.
Additionally, Wong revealed that the group has plans to list their business. While there are advantages and disadvantages to this decision, the overall benefits outweigh the concerns.
