The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a concert organiser with the honorific title of “Datuk” in Petaling Jaya. The arrest is in connection to alleged involvement in funds amounting to RM500 million.
According to sources cited by Sinar Harian, the MACC detained the 42-year-old suspect on Tuesday (July 25) after summoning him for questioning as part of their investigation. Two additional suspects were also apprehended.
Under the provisions of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (Amla) 2001, the suspects are being investigated. The MACC has yet to provide official confirmation on the matter.
