PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has established round-the-clock operations rooms to monitor the six state elections and Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election. Seven operations rooms have been set up, including the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya and their respective offices in Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
The operation rooms will enable the general public to provide information, lodge reports of corruption, and report abuses of power during the state elections and the Kuala Terengganu by-election period. In a statement released on Saturday (July 29), the MACC also reminded all candidates and political parties to adhere to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 and the Election Offences Act 1954 and refrain from engaging in any activities that are against the law or election regulations.
The operation rooms will be operational from July 29 to August 12.
