KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has emphasized the importance of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) being free from executive influence. In a Facebook post on Sunday (Oct 1), Anwar stated that the commission should remain steadfast in its rejection of corruption and intensify efforts to combat this issue. He added that a country cannot develop without eradicating the culture of corruption in all levels of society. Anwar expressed confidence in the ability of MACC to fulfill this noble ambition for the betterment of the people and the nation.
In addition, the prime minister extended his congratulations to MACC on its 56th anniversary.
