PUTRAJAYA: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested a company owner and two employees of a statutory body on Wednesday (Jan 17) in connection with a corruption case related to projects under the entrepreneurship programme.
A source revealed that the three men were in their 30s and 40s and were arrested while giving statements at the MACC headquarters between 8.35pm and 10.30pm.
“The company owner allegedly gave RM4,000 to two individuals working in a statutory body to secure multiple projects under the entrepreneurship programme from 2020 to 2023,” the source said.
The company owner has been remanded for three days, from today until Saturday (Jan 20), after Magistrate, Puan Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin, granted the MACC’s application at the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court on Thursday (Jan 18).
The other two individuals were released on MACC bail after their statements were recorded.
MACC Intelligence Division deputy director, Galan Ngadit, confirmed the arrest of the three men and stated that the case is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009. – Bernama
