According to Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, over 1.5 million individuals from the B40 group have sought medical treatment from general practitioners (GPs) through the Madani Medical Scheme up to February.
The Health Minister mentioned that the initiative, which commenced on June 15, 2023, intended to alleviate overcrowding in Green Zones at Emergency Departments within public hospitals.
“Administered by PHCorp, a Health Ministry-owned entity, this program has notably reduced hospital congestion significantly,” he stated in a release on Friday (March 1).
“Utilizing various strategies, over 95% of hospitals have effectively attended to at least 70% of Green Zone patients within two hours, meeting the 100-day key performance target,” he added.
He emphasized that the selection of districts for the scheme’s rollout aimed to be inclusive and not neglect regions such as semi-rural states in the East Coast, the north of the peninsula, and Borneo States.
