In a recent interview, Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu stated that there is no need to stoke racial sentiments, as the Malay population is the majority in the country and will continue to be so. He criticized attempts by the Opposition to create disharmony in Malaysia, specifically referencing fears about the Chinese population taking over the country. Mohamad pointed out that the Malay birthrate is the highest, while many Chinese professionals remain unmarried, and thus the percentage of the Chinese population is much lower than that of the Malays.

Mohamad also referenced specific unmarried MPs, Liew Chin Tong, Teresa Kok, Vivian Wong, and Wong Shu Qi, to emphasize his point. He further highlighted the projections that show the bumiputra proportion of Malaysia is set to increase, while the Chinese and Indian populations are expected to decrease.

He also addressed the recent call by Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal to amend the Federal Constitution so that only a Malay Muslim can become Prime Minister, dismissing it as an attempt to gain popularity and appear as champions of Malay issues.

Mohamad emphasized the importance of ensuring that Amanah follows the Quran and does not play up racial sentiments, particularly in championing the Malay agenda. He expressed his strong disapproval of racial sentiments and racism, instead advocating for healthy competition and the spirit of learning about and from other races in Malaysia. He urged the Malay community to be more open in this regard.

Furthermore, Mohamad highlighted the need to explain why Islam is a blessing to all and to instil the spirit of healthy competition, as opposed to racial sentiments. He criticized the tendency to insult other races while simultaneously depending on their services, stating that this behavior is counterproductive and should be replaced with mutual respect and cooperation.
