KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the Deputy Prime Minister, announced that Malaysia and China will be enhancing their collaboration in the realm of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
Speaking about his recent meeting with Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Ahmad Zahid shared that China is keen on providing more training series, exchanging experiences, and offering educational opportunities in technology and vocational fields to students and workers in Malaysia.
The discussion also touched upon the upcoming celebration of the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic ties on May 31, as highlighted by Ahmad Zahid.
He added that in recent months, he has had numerous interactions with high-ranking Chinese officials visiting Malaysia, all of whom expressed confidence in the growth potential of the relationship between the two countries.
Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of increased cooperation at both party and governmental levels for the mutual benefit of both nations.
Joining Ahmad Zahid at the meeting were Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin, and Majilis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
According to Ahmad Zahid, Liu was accompanied by China’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, along with other embassy officials. – Bernama
