The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, announced that Malaysia and China have agreed to maintain continuous and open communication regarding the South China Sea issue. The purpose of this communication is to ensure that the situation in the area remains peaceful. Anwar mentioned that he discussed this matter during his meeting with China Premier Li Qiang on September 16.
Moreover, Premier Li expressed his support for the Asean Centrality concept, which aims to address international security concerns in the region. Additionally, he supported a free Asean bloc and stressed the importance of resolving enmity between the United States and China. Anwar also raised the issue of Myanmar and the repatriation of Rohingya refugees during the meeting.
While discussing bilateral, regional, and international cooperation, Premier Li introduced the concept of a community for a shared future for mankind. This concept emphasizes the principles of openness, civility, inclusiveness, and mutual respect. Anwar noted that these values align with those of Malaysia Madani, an ideology promoting universal values such as poverty eradication, justice, and sustainable development.
This statement was made by Anwar during his working visit to China, where he attended the 20th China-Asean Expo (CAEXPO). He further stated that Malaysia generally supports universal values and is committed to promoting initiatives that address poverty eradication, justice, and sustainable development.
