    Malaysia Day celebrations to be broadcast live on mainstream TV channels, says Comms Minister

    The national-level Malaysia Day celebrations this Saturday (Sept 16) can be watched live by Malaysians on all mainstream television channels and social media platforms, according to Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil. Additionally, LED screens will be set up outside Stadium Perpaduan in Kuching to allow the local population to follow the event. People can enter the stadium starting from 7pm, and the Acting Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, is expected to arrive at 8:30pm. The highlight of the celebrations will be a fireworks display. Fahmi Fadzil made these announcements after meeting with Mohamad Asfia at Astana Negeri on September 14.

    Along with the celebrations, there will also be food sales and the Rahmah Sales program, which will be held on Friday (Sept 15) and Saturday. Fahmi Fadzil encouraged the public to attend these events.

    Meanwhile, Sarawak Utility and Telecommunications Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi, who is responsible for overseeing the celebrations, stated that a full dress rehearsal will take place on Thursday night to ensure the smooth flow of the events. He mentioned that the preparations are currently in their final stages and that both Fahmi Fadzil and he, along with the main committee members, will attend the full dress rehearsal.
