Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that Malaysia will actively condemn the attacks by the Israeli government on the Palestinians and continue to monitor the situation using all available channels. He highlighted the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) recent decision on the crisis in Gaza as a clear message that the current atrocities must be stopped.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that while the ICJ’s decision did not completely provide the end of the war, it conveyed a clear condemnation of the attacks. He emphasized that humanitarian aid for the Palestinians should be expedited in light of the ICJ’s decision.
He also referenced remarks by the Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, during the United Nations Security Council Open Debate On The Situation in The Middle East Including Palestinian Question in New York, affirming Malaysia’s commitment to monitor the situation in Gaza and provide support to the people of Palestine.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made these comments during an encounter with reporters at the Zoo Negara on Saturday. On Friday, the ICJ ordered Israel to prevent acts of genocide against Palestinians and do more to help civilians.
