    Malaysian Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister extend Chinese New Year wishes in Mandarin

    KUALA LUMPUR: The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister showed unity and harmony by extending their Chinese New Year greetings in Mandarin during a Cabinet luncheon and yee sang tossing event.

    A video taken at the event captured Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wishing everyone “Happy New Year, Happy New Year, Good New Year,” while Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, “I wish you increased wealth. I’m a Malay, you are Chinese, but we are all Malaysians,” both in Mandarin.

    Energy, Transition and Public Utilities Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, and Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Hasan also extended their Chinese New Year wishes in Mandarin.

    The Cabinet luncheon and yee sang event was hosted by Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
