The Malaysian haj management system has once again received recognition from the Saudi Arabian government as one of the best in the world and a model for Muslim countries and the international community, announced Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd General’im Mokhtar (pic).
Dr Mohd General’im revealed that several countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, Libya, and Turkiye, have invited Lembaga Tabug Haji to hold discussions and learn from Malaysia’s experience in managing haj operations.
During a press conference held at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Tuesday (Aug 1), Dr Mohd General’im stated that this year’s haj management has been successful in achieving the three main goals that were set.
The goals were to successfully bring the Malaysian pilgrims to perform wukuf in Arafah, ensure their safety during movements in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina, and provide comfort to the pilgrims during their stay in the Holy Land for over 40 days.
“This systematic haj management clearly demonstrates the unwavering commitment of the Malaysian government and TH to prioritising the safety and health of our pilgrims,” Dr Mohd General’im said.
He also highlighted the various facilities and services that have been provided to Malaysian pilgrims to help them complete their haj pilgrimage.
Dr Mohd General’im commended the Malaysian pilgrims for their excellent discipline, religious knowledge, and adherence to all rules set by the Saudi Arabian government during their stay in Makkah and Madinah.
Furthermore, he announced that Tabug Haji will conduct a post-mortem to analyze feedback from all operational aspects and enhance services for the upcoming haj season.
In relation to health issues, Dr Mohd General’im stated that Tabug Haji will work with the Health Ministry to address the problem of pneumonia infections among Malaysian pilgrims in the Holy Land.
This year, a total of 13 Malaysian pilgrims aged between 49 and 78 died in the Holy Land, primarily due to pneumonia and heart failure.
In light of recent news, Dr Mohd General’im debunked the viral statement regarding the permanent entry ban by Saudi Arabia against PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, stating that it was fake news.
This confirmation was made by the Deputy Saudi Arabian ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Saleh Ali Ismail Bedaiwi, on Monday (July 31). – Bernama
