PETALING JAYA: Sunway Lagoon has revealed its plans for the ninth edition of its annual Nights of Fright (NOF9) event, which aims to be the most immersive Halloween experience yet. The event is being organized in partnership with The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company from New York and will take place in Kuala Lumpur. The horror theme for this year’s event is called Fields of Fear, and it will be held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until October 31. Nights of Fright: Festival of Fear has been a popular attraction since it first launched in 2013, offering thrill-seekers and horror enthusiasts a variety of haunted attractions within the walls of Sunway Lagoon theme park.

Each year, Nights of Fright raises the bar with different themes and concepts, providing a scream-filled night for adventurous attendees. This year, NOF9 aims to create a truly immersive Halloween experience where irrational fears are intensified and the line between reality and nightmare is blurred. The event will feature cutting-edge special effects, detailed set designs, professional scare actors, and numerous haunted houses, rides, scare zones, show stages, and a new Scarytales Theater.

Among the highlights of this year’s Nights of Fright are four new terrifying attractions. The first is “Texas Chainsaw Massacre:Out.back.Attack!” where attendees can experience Leatherface’s lair filled with scalps and victims. The second is “Animalium,” which takes visitors to a toxic wasteland inhabited by “humanimal” creatures. “The Legend of Sweeney Todd: Barbershop killer of Fleet Street” offers a journey through the infamous barber shop where Sweeney Todd’s vengeful blade and Mrs Lovett’s meat pies await. Lastly, “Murder at Madame Zhu’s” takes place in a Hong Kong noodle house where a crazy chef is butchering customers.

Sunway Lagoon is committed to including local and Asian horror stories in the event, creating a true sense of terror for all attendees. Public favorites from previous years such as Hammer-Icons of Horror and The Asylum will also be making a comeback.

In addition to the haunted attractions, attendees can also enjoy thrilling rides like the Lost City of Gold Scream Coaster and Apache Pots. There will also be new shows and performances, including “The Revenge of Little Red” and “Zombie Encounter,” and each night will end with the “Freaky Nightmares” party featuring bewitching tunes.

Strict safety protocols will be in place to ensure the well-being of all guests. To enhance the Halloween experience, Nights Of Fright 9 offers three different packages, including a Xpress Pass, NOF9 early access, and special perks available through the Sunway Super App and Sunway Lagoon e-store. A VIP Access package is also available, offering additional benefits such as a themed dinner and photo opportunities with the NOF9 characters.

Sunway Lagoon encourages attendees to explore the horror at their own pace and to remain vigilant at every turn, as there is no predetermined path to follow. Brave travelers are warned to beware of every step and corner as they immerse themselves in the nightmarish world of Nights of Fright 9.
