According to Iskandar Puteri acting OCPD Supt Ibrahim Mat Som, a tragic incident occurred at around 2.24am on Sunday (April 7) in Taman Iskandar Puteri, where a 26-year-old man lost his life after crashing his car into a tree at a roundabout on Jalan Puteri Harbour.
The driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle, resulting in the fatal collision with a tree at the roundabout. The impact of the crash caused the victim to sustain serious injuries to the head, right leg, and a broken arm, ultimately leading to his untimely death at the scene.
Following the tragic incident, the body of the deceased was taken to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Ronnie Robert stated that the rescue team managed to extract the victim’s body using specialized rescue tools before handing it over to the police for further investigation and procedural measures.
A team of 12 personnel from the fire department responded to the scene with a fire rescue tender (FRT) and a rapid rescue vehicle (RRV) to carry out the rescue operation, which successfully concluded at 3.30am.
