A 33-year-old man was fatally injured when his vehicle collided with a tree on Jalan Seri Austin 1 in Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor Baru. The incident took place at 2.24am on Tuesday (Oct 17), according to Noor Azhan Ahmad, the operation commander of Tebrau Fire and Rescue Department.
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle after crashing into the tree. The rescue team used a spinal board to extricate the victim’s body, which was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical team. Eight officers from the fire department, accompanied by a fire truck and Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) van, were dispatched to the location.
The police have taken possession of the body for further action. Raub Selamat, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Johor Baru South, stated that the incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
