A man who used a metal bar to attack two individuals at Taman Danau Desa in Kuala Lumpur has been apprehended. The Brickfields OCPD, Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor, stated that police were notified about the incident after a video, lasting one minute and 26 seconds, was shared on Twitter on August 3. A 48-year-old man also filed a police report concerning the event, which purportedly took place on July 31 at around 9:55 am. “We immediately initiated investigations for voluntary harm caused using a weapon,” ACP Amihizam explained in a statement released on August 4.
Based on the findings of the investigation, the police arrested a 45-year-old male suspect on the same day. “We have taken the suspect into custody for three days to aid in the ongoing investigation,” ACP Amihizam stated. He also urged the public not to speculate on the incident solely based on the video circulating online.
The video footage features a man wearing shorts and wielding a metal bar confronting another man who is seen picking up a traffic cone and pushing it in his direction. In the background, a voice can be heard saying “Don’t” as the two men face off. The man in shorts continues towards the other man, who retreats. The former then swings the metal bar, striking the man in the light blue shirt until he loses his balance and falls. The two men exchange vulgar language, after which the man in shorts warns the person recording the video to watch their words before hitting them with the bar, causing them to drop the recording device.
