Authorities in Iskandar Puteri have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with a violent altercation that took place at a petrol station in Bukit Indah.
The arrest came after a police report was filed by a 26-year-old man involved in the fight, according to Iskandar Puteri acting OCPD Supt Ibrahim Mat Som.
“A video of the incident was shared on social media, depicting a physical confrontation between two men and a woman,” Supt Ibrahim said in a statement on Sunday.
“The victim alleged that he was assaulted by the woman’s spouse. Upon questioning, it was revealed that jealousy was the motive behind the fight.”
The suspect was apprehended at the Kota Iskandar Highway around noon on Sunday and is being investigated under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for causing harm and criminal intimidation.
“We will be seeking a remand order at the Johor Baru court,” Supt Ibrahim added.
The incident, captured in a 46-second video shared on Facebook, shows one individual striking both a man and a woman at the petrol station.
