Man assaults lover for dating another man

A man suspected of dating another person was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend in Ampang. Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail reported that the incident took place at a pharmacy where the victim works at around 9.50pm on Thursday (Sept 28). The 21-year-old victim attempted to escape, but the man pursued and attacked her before taking her mobile phone. She suffered injuries to her mouth and legs and was treated at Hospital Ampang. The suspect, a 26-year-old individual with a criminal history and a positive methamphetamine and amphetamine test result, was apprehended by the police at approximately 9.45pm on Saturday (Sept 30). The victim’s phone was also recovered.

According to ACP Mohd Azam, the assault occurred because the suspect was upset about the victim’s alleged involvement with another boyfriend. The suspect is expected to be held in custody until Thursday (Oct 5).
