According to Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan, a tailor in Tanjung Rambutan was the victim of a robbery when she lost two gold chains to a man who claimed to be selling cow’s milk.
The incident took place on Feb 8 at around 9.10am at the tailor’s residence, where the 38-year-old woman was in conversation with the suspect about his alleged sale of cow’s milk in front of her house. Suddenly, the suspect turned aggressive, pushed the victim, and snatched two of her gold chains.
“He threatened her and warned her not to scream, or else he would harm her,” ACP Yahaya said in a statement on Feb 11. The suspect then fled the scene on a motorcycle, and fortunately, the victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
The two chains that were stolen from the victim included her wedding chain and one that was a gift from her father. The case is currently under investigation under Section 392 of the Penal Code, and the police are actively searching for the suspect responsible for the crime.
If anyone has any information regarding the incident, they are encouraged to contact the investigating officer, ASP Fadli Ahmad, at 019-250 0019 to assist the police in their inquiries. ACP Yahaya also issued a cautionary reminder to the public to be cautious and safeguard their well-being and belongings to prevent any similar incidents from happening in the future.
