At KM141 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) near Juru in Bukit Mertajam, a tragic incident occurred early Thursday (Feb 29) morning. A man driving a car lost control, causing it to skid and crash into a road divider.
The driver, identified as R.Aravin, 26, tragically lost his life at the scene as a result of the severe injuries sustained during the crash. The impact of the accident caused significant damage to the car, and the driver was pinned in the driver’s seat following the collision.
Upon receiving an emergency call at 3.43am, the Penang Fire and Rescue Department’s State Operations Centre (PGO) swiftly dispatched a team to the location of the accident. The spokesperson for the department mentioned that special rescue tools were utilized by the firefighters to extricate the victim from the car.
The body of the victim was transported to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for a post mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the potential consequences of losing control of a vehicle while driving.
