A man died instantly when the car he was driving crashed into a concrete pillar on an elevated highway in Johor Baru.
The Johor Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre received an emergency call regarding the incident at 8.26pm on Thursday (Oct 12).
“The accident occurred in front of Istana Pasir Pelangi on Jalan Pasir Pelangi,” stated Larkin Fire station chief Suhaimi Abdul Jamal in a press release.
The victim collided with the pillar, prompting firefighters to utilize a rescue cutter and spreader to free the body from the wreckage.
“The medical team from the Health Ministry confirmed that the 27-year-old male victim passed away at the scene of the accident,” revealed Suhaimi.
The operation, involving 14 firemen from the Larkin Fire station under the leadership of senior officer II Firdaus Abdullah, concluded at 9.17pm.
