In China’s Henan province, a man who won 86.62 million yuan (RM56.5mil) in the lottery decided to donate most of his winnings, as he felt he could not spend it all, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Local reports stated that the man, who wore a mask when collecting his prize, chose to donate 53 million yuan (RM34.6mil) – which is 61% of his winnings – to the Henan Sports Development Foundation.
The man, whose surname is Guo, revealed that he purchased the winning ticket for 100 yuan (RM65) from a roadside stall.
When asked if he planned to retire after his big win, Guo replied, “Still have to work. Must work!”
He also mentioned that he intends to use the remaining portion of his fortune to purchase a shop and a house.
