KUALA LUMPUR: Tragedy struck when a 21-year-old man lost his life in a heartbreaking attempt to rescue his father who had fallen into a river near Old Klang Road.
According to a statement by the City Fire and Rescue Department on Saturday (April 6), they received a distress call at 11am on Friday (April 5) and immediately dispatched firefighters to the scene near the Avant Court condominium in Taman Sentosa, Kuala Lumpur.
The victim’s father reported that his son was swept away by the river’s currents after bravely trying to save him from the perilous waters.
A search operation was promptly initiated with the department’s skilled divers, leading to the discovery of the victim’s body at 12.59pm.
“The body has been handed over to the police at the location,” the department stated.
