A 21-year-old man drowned in the sea near Pasir Bogak Beach on Pangkor Island, according to the Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre officer-in-charge, Mohammad Zamri Awang Long. The incident occurred on Saturday (Sept 30) at around 3.30pm. The man’s body was found approximately 7 meters from the beach.
It was reported that the victim had been playing in the waters before he was discovered drowned at a depth of roughly 3 meters. Health Ministry personnel attempted to revive him through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but were unsuccessful. Subsequently, the man was transported to the Pangkor health clinic where he was officially pronounced dead.
The entire rescue operation came to a close at approximately 3.55pm, as stated by Mohammad Zamri Awang Long.
