ISKANDAR PUTERI: A 31-year-old man was killed while three others were injured in a car crash in Jalan Forest City, Gelang Patah, here.
Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Hairul Azwii Esrah said the incident occurred at 8.50pm on Saturday (July 14).
“The vehicle crashed and overturned at the roadside. The driver was pronounced dead at the location by the medical team, while three other passengers escaped with minor injuries.
“The body has been removed from the vehicle and handed over to the police for further investigation,” he said in a statement here on Sunday (July 14).
Meanwhile, Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle before crashing into the left side of the road.
“The victim suffered a serious injury to the head. The body has been brought to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak shared that a 40-year-old motorcycle rider was killed after his vehicle crashed into a car at Jalan Keembong 23, Taman Johor Jaya, Johor Baru.
“The incident occurred on Saturday at 11pm when a car, driven by a 37-year-old man, was trying to turn right into an intersection from Taman Mount Austin towards Taman Johor Jaya.
“At the same time, the victim, who came from the opposite direction, failed to evade the car and crashed into it,” he said, adding that the victim suffered a serious injury to the head and was pronounced dead at the location.
The victim’s body has been brought to Hospital Sultan Ismail for a post-mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
