A man died from burns sustained when four parked vehicles caught fire in the early hours of Saturday (Sept 16) morning.
According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, the department received a distress call and arrived at the scene in Desa Mentari at around 2.50am. The incident involved four cars, one of which was completely burnt, while the other three sustained damage but were not destroyed.
A 67-year-old victim was found in one of the cars that was around 50% damaged by the fire. Sadly, he passed away due to the burns sustained. The police have transported the body to Sg Buloh hospital,” Mukhtar stated.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid mentioned that the police will release a statement on the incident soon.
