A tragic accident in Kluang has resulted in the death of a man in his 40s who was run over by a car on Jalan Ulu Belitong-Renggam.
The Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh stated that the incident occurred at 11.10pm on Saturday (Nov 11) when the victim was walking along the side of the road.
“A vehicle driven by a 39-year-old man was heading towards Layang-Layang from Felda Ulu Belitong and the driver failed to avoid the victim, who was walking in the dark.
The victim sustained a serious head injury and tragically was pronounced dead at the location,” he said in a statement here on Sunday (Nov 12).
He added that the police are currently investigating the identity of the victim, as no identification was found on the victim’s body.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act of 1987.
