The man who harassed a female photographer on social media will be sentenced on Wednesday (Dec 20).

The anti-stalking law, which came into effect in May, provides for a maximum of three years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.

Court had to postpone sentencing as Mohamad Shafiq was overlooked to be brought to court on Tuesday (Dec 19).

On Friday (Dec 15), he pleaded guilty to repeatedly stalking Acacia Mardiana through his X account after initially claiming trial to the charge in August.

On the same day, the court allowed the prosecution’s request to refer the accused to the Forensic Psychiatric Unit of Ulu Kinta Hospital for observation.
