Authorities in Kuala Lumpur conducted a large-scale operation in the area of Jalan Silang and Kota Raya, resulting in the detention of 1,101 undocumented foreigners. The operation was carried out by the Bukit Aman’s Internal Security and Public Order Department, starting at 11am on Thursday (Dec 21).
According to Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid, a total of 60 premises were inspected, leading to the detention of individuals from various nationalities, including two children. Comm Allaudeen stated that some individuals attempted to flee, but they were apprehended as the area was effectively cordoned off.

The detainees were arrested for various immigration offences and will be handed over to the Immigration Department for further action. Additionally, contraband items worth a total of RM104,530, including 100 cartons of cigarettes, 80 cartons of alcoholic beverages, and illegal medicines were seized during the operation. The illegal medicines originated from Bangladesh and Nepal and were brought into the country without approval from the Health Ministry. Comm Allaudeen stated that further investigations will be conducted to determine how these items were smuggled into the country.

The joint operation involved 1,138 officers and personnel from various departments, including the General Operations Force (GOF) and Federal Reserve Unit (FRU), as well as agencies such as the Immigration and Customs Departments and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
Comm Allaudeen declared the operation a success and emphasized the authorities’ commitment to addressing the issue of illegal immigration. He thanked the public for providing information and urged them to continue doing so. The matter of premises owners renting to or employing undocumented foreigners will be referred to DBKL, and authorities will also investigate if any of the detainees are involved in prostitution.
Internal Security and Public Order deputy director Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Suzrin Mohd Rodhi and other senior police officers were present during the operation and subsequent press conference. The operation’s overall goal was to crack down on illegal activities and provide security in the area.
