KUALA LUMPUR: The upcoming second edition of the Asia Islamic Tourism and Trade Expo (Aitex) 2024 will be organized by the Malaysian Tourism Agency Association (Mata) from August 23 to 25. Mata president Datuk Dr Mohd Khalid Harun announced in a statement on Saturday (March 10) that the event will be held at the Sunway Resort Hotel in Selangor. It will feature the Islamic Tourism Expo focusing on Haj and Umrah, in addition to the Islamic Banking Expo and Islamic Jewellery Expo.
Dr. Mohd Khalid emphasized that this year’s expo will serve as a dynamic platform for industry players, stakeholders, and the general public to engage, collaborate, and innovate within the Islamic tourism and trade sector. He also mentioned that the organization of the event received cooperation from prominent entities such as the World Islamic Tourism Council (WITC), the Global Islamic Tourism Organization (Gito), and the Asean Federation of Umrah and Hajj (Afuh).
In addition to the exhibition, Aitex 2024 will include the Islamic Tourism and Islamic Finance Conferences, where discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities pertaining to the tourism and Islamic finance sectors will be provided.
