PETALING JAYA: The 1975 frontman Matty Healy has taken to Instagram in a defiant response, showing no remorse for his onstage behavior.
Healy shared the news of the cancellation of the Good Vibes Festival, along with a caption stating, “Ok, well why don’t you try and not make out with Ross (referring to the guitarist that he kissed) for 20 years. Not as easy as it looks.”
Last Friday (July 21), Healy delivered a rant about the country’s LGBT laws while onstage at the Sepang International Circuit, followed by kissing bassist Ross MacDonald.
As a result, the organizers decided to cancel the band’s performance, which was further followed by a ban on the group performing in Malaysia. This ban also led to the cancellation of the remaining two days of the festival by the Multimedia and Digital Ministry.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are expected to call up the organizers for questioning.
