A website belonging to one of Maxis’ authorised resellers indicates that the company may be considering reducing prices for its broadband plans. This comes after the recent price reduction of Unifi broadband plans last week. If the information on the website is correct, Maxis will decrease its monthly fees for all its plans, aligning them with Unifi’s new lower prices.
However, unlike Unifi, Maxis does not offer a 1Gbps or 2Gbps plan to general consumers. Instead, it provides an 800Mbps plan that does not have a Unifi equivalent.
The website, maxis-fibre.net.my, displays the following monthly fees for Maxis Home Fibre plans: RM99 (originally RM129) for the 100Mbps plan, RM139 (originally RM149) for the 300Mbps plan, RM159 (originally RM219) for the 500Mbps plan, and RM249 (originally RM299) for the 800Mbps plan.
Additionally, the website mentions that the 100Mbps to 500Mbps range of plans are eligible for a RM10 monthly rebate on subscription fees for the first 24 months. Except for the 800Mbps plan, all the listed broadband plans are priced similarly to Unifi’s equivalent offerings provided by TM.
LifestyleTech has reached out to Maxis for a statement regarding the alleged price revisions. However, the Internet service provider has not yet provided a comment at the time of writing.
