City council wins two golds, two silvers in innovation, invention contest
Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) achieved a total of four medals at the Innovation and Invention Competition through Exhibition (iCompEx) held at Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah (Polimas) in Jitra, Kedah. The annual competition showcases innovative projects and new discoveries and aims to encourage researchers to create original innovations or creations. It is open to researchers from various educational institutions, government agencies, and private organizations across Malaysia.
MBSA won two gold medals in different categories. The first gold medal was secured by Xcelsior for their project ‘eNotifikasi,’ an SMS alert system that allows property owners to conveniently check and pay their assessment tax bills online. The second gold medal was awarded to Kitar 7 for their ‘Re-Rosta’ project, which promotes recycling among low-cost flat residents by providing drop-off facilities for dry recyclable materials.
In addition to the gold medals, MBSA also received two silver medals. The first silver medal was presented to Badan Dakwah MBSA for their initiative called ‘Quran Time,’ which facilitates the reading and recitation of the Al-Quran for staff and congregants. The second silver medal was given to Jitu for their system called ‘KMM Simple,’ which simplifies the process of applying for permits to place tables and chairs in public spaces by calculating charges based on the area’s size.
Furthermore, MBSA was honored with the Special Loyalty Award at iCompEx, acknowledging their consistent participation in the competition since 2016. The city council hopes that these awards will serve as inspiration for its workforce to continue delivering excellent public service.
