PETALING JAYA: The MCA national-level party elections will begin next week at the San Choon Hall, Wisma MCA from 1pm to 5pm on September 11, as announced by Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The President of MCA revealed that the voting process will take place in polling stations located within each MCA division across the country from 2pm to 7pm on September 24.
“For the 2023 party election, I have suggested that we conduct it openly and sincerely, organizing various events to introduce the candidates to the delegates,” Dr Wee mentioned in a Facebook post on Thursday, September 7.
He further added, “I believe this approach will facilitate campaigning for all candidates and enable them to meet delegates, fostering the spirit of democracy within our party. It’s worth noting that when I ran for the MCA Youth chief’s position in 2008, I had already adopted this campaign method, despite the competition from other candidates vying for the same role.”
According to Dr Wee, this strategy will effectively save time for both candidates and delegates, while fostering stronger bonds among party members and encouraging healthy competition.
