The Media Centre for the 2023 National Day will be open for four days starting Monday (Aug 28) from 6.30 am to 3 pm at the Cempaka Sari Auditorium in Putrajaya.
However, operations on August 30 (Wednesday) will start from 10 am to 3 pm, according to the coordinator of the 2023 National Day Media Centre, Datuk E Sivabalan.
Sivabalan mentioned that the setting up of the media centre is almost complete, with 90 percent of the work done, and it is ready to receive media personnel who will cover the 2023 National Day celebration.
“We encourage all media practitioners to attend, but they must have the media verification card issued by the Information Department. To facilitate their work, we will also create a temporary Whatsapp group for information sharing, provide plug points and 5G Wi-Fi connections, as well as food and drinks at the media centre,” said Sivabalan during an interview at the media centre in Putrajaya today.
On Saturday (Aug 26), Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil urged all stakeholders, including media personnel, to test the internet coverage and telecommunication signals of their lines on the dress rehearsal day on Aug 29.
Meanwhile, Sivabalan advised media personnel covering the National Day celebration to maintain professionalism and follow the given instructions.
He also mentioned that around 500 local and foreign media practitioners will be covering the event. – Bernama
