SHAH ALAM: MIC’s Datuk Sivarraajh Chandran is happy to be back home in the party fold.

Speaking to journalists at the sidelines of the MIC 78th annual general assembly, Sivarraajh said MIC was where he truly belonged.

“I have been serving this party since 2004 and have been a youth leader and had served as a vice president.

“I took a break for one-and-a-half years and after the open invitation from Tan Sri (party president Tan Sri S.A Vigneswaran), I met him,” said Sivarraajh who is currently a senator.

He said that he is “happy and proud” to be back as an MIC member, adding that he had received invitations from other parties to join them.

“But my soul and mind is still with MIC. I started in 2004 and served the community (as an MIC leader) with most of my support coming from the Indians. I still believe that MIC is the voice for Indians,” he added.

Meanwhile, also speaking to reporters at the sidelines of the AGM, MIC Deputy President Datuk Seri M. Saravanan said two resolutions will be tabled at the general meeting.

He added Vigneswaran had spoken about the party’s future, its responsibilities and the direction forward, in his opening address earlier in the day.

“At the same time, our next plan would be based on the support the party receives,” he said.
