The Education Ministry has provided maintenance assistance to government-aided schools nationwide for this year.
According to the Ministry, these contributions were given in accordance with the Guidelines for the Management of Assistance for Government-Aided Schools 2021 and the Management Procedure of Assistance for Government-Aided Schools 2023.
These actions align with the provisions outlined in Budget 2023, which allocated a total of RM900mil to cover maintenance works across all school types, including national, Chinese national-type, and Tamil national-type schools.
This statement was issued by the ministry to address concerns raised by certain parties regarding the special allocation for upgrading toilets and maintaining government educational institutions.
“The Ministry has not neglected the welfare of government-aided schools despite the specific allocation directed towards government schools,” stated the ministry, as reported by Bernama.
