A 15-year-old girl who went missing after allegedly leaving her home last Wednesday has been located and is safe.
The girl, Nur Shafina Maisarah Abdullah, was reported missing by her mother after she failed to return home from school. Her mother filed a police report at the Kajang police headquarters (IPD) on the same day.
The district police chief of Kajang, ACP Mohd Zaid Hassan, stated that Nur Shafina Maisarah was discovered after her friend’s mother saw social media posts about the missing teenager. The friend’s mother brought her to the police station on Saturday (Sept 16).
“The 48-year-old woman stated that she saw Facebook posts about the missing teenager who had been staying at her house in Semenyih, Selangor,” said Mohd Zaid in a statement on Sunday (Sept 17).
Mohd Zaid explained that Nur Shafina’s friend was unaware that she had run away from home, as she did not mention it. Additionally, a police investigation revealed that the teenager had left due to a misunderstanding with her family.
“The victim was found safe and unharmed, and she was returned to her parents at the Kajang IPD,” he added. – Bernama
