Missing Kuantan teen found drowned in canal

KUANTAN: A 14-year-old boy went missing while bathing in a canal at Indera Sempurna here on Friday (Dec 15), and his body was found this morning.

Zulfadli Zakaria, the public relations officer of Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), stated that the body of Muhammad Amirul Haikal Che Jaapa was found at 10.22am on Sunday (Dec 17) by the Water Rescue Team (PPDA).

According to Zakaria, “The body was found about 1.6km from where Muhammad Amirul Haikal was reported to have gone missing.”

Muhammad Amirul Haikal, who was a student at SMK Mat Kilau, was reported missing while bathing with six friends at 3.50pm Friday. – Bernama
