After being missing for three days, a man was found dead in a drain in Sandakan district, according to Sandakan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Fuad Malek.
The body of the 33-year-old man was discovered by passers-by at approximately 4.30pm on Saturday (Jan 13), said the Sandakan OCPD.
Upon discovering the body, police rushed to the scene near SK Mawar Sandakan with the assistance of other enforcement officers to retrieve the body.
“The man was reported missing on Jan 12, with his mother telling police that he had not returned home since leaving the house on Jan 11,” said ACP Fuad in a statement.
He also mentioned that the body was taken to the Duchess of Kent Hospital for a post-mortem examination and assured that there were no signs of foul play found at the time.
He also added that investigations to determine the cause of death were being conducted.
