PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Medical Association has praised the Health Ministry for its comprehensive strategy in managing Covid-19 and providing clear direction on how to handle the surge in cases.
MMA president Dr Azizan Abdul Aziz expressed that the ministry’s decisive action has reassured Malaysians who were concerned about the recent spike in Covid-19 cases over the past two weeks.
Dr Azizan emphasized that the ministry’s statement will serve as a reminder of the effective preventive practices such as 3S, 3W, and TRIIS that were learned during the pandemic.
She also urged the public to do their part to make the strategy successful and recommended the ministry communicate its strategy through various platforms to ensure that the public is well-informed.
Additionally, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad announced that Malaysia does not plan to reinstate the movement control order (MCO) despite the significant increase in Covid-19 cases nationwide. He stated that the country will not revert to the procedures implemented at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. Instead, the Health Ministry has prepared a five-point strategy to manage the recent surge in Covid-19 cases.
