BATU GAJAH: Tronoh assemblyman Steven Tiw Tee Siang will provide RM200 monthly assistance per child for a year to four kids who lost their parents in an accident last week.

Tiw said, “In an instant, the four siblings became orphans when their grandmother, aged 63, swerved to avoid a dog on Jalan Gopeng-Kota Baru on July 10.”

“At the time of the accident, the parents, grandmother, and youngest sibling were in the car,” added Tiw.

The accident occurred after the family dropped off their eldest daughter at Gopeng Matriculation College and were heading to buy essentials for her.

Tiw announced this aid during his visit to the children and their grandmother in Kampung Serkai Jadi, Tronoh on July 19.

The deceased parents are Mohd Ramddan Abd Rahim, 44, and Kisdalliana Saad, 43, who worked at a fish cracker factory in Tronoh.

The four children are Nur Fatin Syafikah Mohd Ramddan, 18; Mohd Ikman Hafifi, 17; Mohd Aiman Daniel, 13; and Nur Fatihah Najihah, seven.

Nur Fatihah suffered severe injuries and is currently hospitalized at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in Ipoh, where Nur Fatin Syafikah is caring for her.

Mohd Ikman Hafifi and Mohd Aiman Daniel did not accompany the family on the trip.

Their grandmother, Noraini Ahmad, 63, sustained neck injuries but has been discharged.

Tiw also gave her a wheelchair and a walking frame, while Pertubuhan Sahabat Amal Perak donated RM500 to her.

Noraini said the trip was joyful as her granddaughter was going to college.

“My son and daughter-in-law didn’t have a driving license, so I was the one driving them,” she said.

She continued, “My son, who usually dislikes taking selfies, took many photos that day. He also told me to eat whatever I wanted as he would pay.”

Mohd Ikman Hafifi mentioned that he and his younger brother were supposed to go on the trip but their mother asked them to stay home and take care of the house.

“Later, relatives informed me about the accident. I thought it was minor, but then my sister called to tell me our parents didn’t make it,” said Mohd Ikman.

“We are all still in shock. Now I just hope my little sister recovers and returns home soon,” he added.
