Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced plans to increase the focus on humanity themes in information delivery to the public. He stated that discussions on this topic would be held with the agencies under the Communications and Digital Ministry in the near future.
Fahmi mentioned that previous content funds had centered on nationhood but suggested a shift towards emphasizing the human aspect. The minister expressed his intention to bring this idea to the relevant agencies in order to implement it. This announcement came after his attendance at the World #QuranConvention 2023 programme in Sepang on Saturday (Dec 2).
During a panel discussion titled ‘Revealed Wisdom and Creative Media,’ Fahmi encouraged creative content providers to integrate Islamic values and noble values more into their work. He expressed the importance of understanding how to incorporate these values deeply without necessarily using the Islamic label while ensuring the content itself upholds Islamic principles.
Fahmi also called for an increase in writing workshops to discover talents capable of producing creative content that promotes noble values and Islamic principles. He specifically mentioned the potential for organizing workshops at the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) to incorporate good values and Islamic principles into professional, solid, and appealing content.
The World #QuranConvention 2023 programme, themed ‘Serve To Be Served: A Divine Guidance From Surah al-Insaan,’ attracted over 1,800 participants. It focused on the importance of serving the ummah (Muslims) based on the teachings of the Quran and applying them in personal life, family, organizations, and the country.
The convention, under the auspices of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim), aimed to encourage Muslims to read, understand, and implement the teachings of the Quran, shaping their thoughts and character based on the Quran and Hadith. – Bernama
