KULAI: Following the success of the Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2023 (APCW 2023), Johor is anticipated to become a prime location for MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) events. Lee Ting Han, the chairman of Johor’s investment, trade and consumer affairs committee, highlighted the aim of attracting investment and promoting tourism in the region.

He also mentioned that Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has allocated RM3mil for this purpose and that an increase in MICE events is expected in the upcoming year. Lee expressed that this development is unique for Johor, as such events are traditionally held in other states like Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Sarawak.

He hopes that the success of APCW 2023 will lead to new growth sectors and investment opportunities within the state.
