According to the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Comm Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, 12,300 traffic offenders managed to settle their summonses in conjunction with the Madani Government One Year Anniversary programme at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
He stated that a total of 37,242 traffic summonses were paid at 14 counters, as well as via discount vouchers on the MyBayar Saman PDRM portal and application.
“A total of 39 personnel were assigned to the counters, including a counter for senior citizens and the disabled,” he said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 10).
The counters were originally supposed to open from 9am to 6pm, but their operational hours were extended to 9pm to allow the public to make payments during the 50% discount drive.
“We received a very good response from the public,” Comm Mohd Azman stated, but he did advise the public not to only wait for such discounts to be offered to settle their outstanding traffic summonses.
He also reminded the public to abide by traffic laws and regulations, and stated that enforcement operations will be conducted continuously to ensure the safety of all road users.
