According to Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, 49 police reports have been filed against social media influencer DD Chronicle for creating a parody video allegedly mocking the Federal Court’s ruling on the Kelantan syariah enactment. The reports were lodged as of Saturday (Feb 17).
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) stated that he expects the number of police reports related to this matter to increase as more people come forward with their concerns. This information was provided to Bernama on Sunday (Feb 18).
The controversial video, which was over three minutes long, was uploaded by DD Chronicle, also known as Dediy Sulaeman Ra’e, 43, and has caused outrage among netizens.
DD Chronicle is facing criticism for allegedly insulting religion and the court by suggesting in the video that drinking alcohol and gambling would not result in punishment. This information was reported by Bernama.
