The department’s director, Baharuddin Tahir, said that a total of 127 foreigners and locals were inspected across 27 premises in Johor, leading to the arrest of 38 individuals for various immigration offenses. The detained individuals consist of five male Bangladeshis, 17 Indonesians (including eight females), five male Pakistanis, nine Myanmarese (including three females), and two Indian nationals.

During the operation, it was discovered that a Bangladeshi supervisor allowed illegal immigrants to stay at a premises he managed. Additionally, one male Indonesian was found to have hired illegal immigrants, and a Bangladeshi entered the country using a fake pass.

The detained individuals, who are aged between 21 and 58, are currently being held at the Setia Tropika Immigration depot in Johor for further investigations and action. The department has also issued six notices to the employers of the detained individuals to assist in the investigations.

Baharuddin emphasized that the department will continue to conduct further operations against illegal immigrants, taking action not only against the individuals themselves, but also their employers and premises owners.
