Mother and two teens found dead in Kg Baru Ampang, cops think suicide

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have stated that three people found dead in a sealed apartment unit are believed to have died by suicide.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, in a statement on Thursday (Sept 7), reported that a call was received by the police at 7.31am regarding the deaths.

An investigation conducted by a police team dispatched to the scene at Kg Baru Ampang revealed the discovery of three bodies – two females aged 14 and 15, as well as a 42-year-old male. It is believed that the deceased individuals were a mother and her children.

“Additionally, a will and some money were found. Forensics police discovered that all doors and windows in the room had been tightly sealed with sellotape, presumably to prevent air from entering or leaving the room.

“Furthermore, a fire starter and charcoal were found in a container beneath a sofa in the room. We suspect that this case is a suicide, and the time of death occurred over 24 hours ago,” he stated.

An ongoing investigation is being carried out to determine if foul play is involved.
