KOTA KINABALU: A motorcyclist in Inanam died after colliding with a dog. Aidimen Leminggu, 24, fell off his bike and was struck by his friend, resulting in his death. His friend, 19, injured his hands. The stray dog also perished.
Kota Kinabalu City police chief Asst Comm Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said Aidimen and his friend were returning home from work in Kolombong. CCTV footage from a nearby gas station revealed that the bikers were in the middle lane, with Aidimen slightly ahead. After hitting a dog, Aidimen lost control of his bike and slid into the right lane. Unable to avoid him, his friend collided with Aidimen.
The victim’s body was sent to the forensic unit of Queen Elizabeth Hospital for an autopsy. Police are investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
